For six months, Satish Saigal kept asking the same question. Was he not understanding people, or was he not hearing them?
“There was no clarity on what I was able to hear,” he says. “I was not able to make out what the other person was saying.” So he asked people to repeat themselves. Again. And again. He leaned in close, or watched their lips, and still missed words. Family conversations turned into guesswork.

They were professional.”
